OPHERA Workshop 3 - Designing a cultural event in a post-earthquake restoration site, methods and tools

Workshop 3 is organized by University of Ferrara and MiC Marche.

Workshop activities:

The workshop shall be performed in the areas affected by 2016 earthquake events and will be aimed to define the specific cultural content of the restoration process to be shown during the open-yards events and to acquire the data necessary to edit such contents. The workshop will allow to train the attending participants on the use of advanced methods and tools for the monitoring, digital surveying and communication of the built cultural heritage under restoration, which will also be applied to the subsequent reconstruction activities.

Objectives:

  • Design the detailed contents of the exhibitions to be performed during the second phase of the project. Seven work-teams shall be created to define the content of each topic of the restoration process;
  • Install structural health monitoring tools in one of the architectural heritage site;
  • Acquire all the data and information necessary to produce the multimedia contents and physical installations by mean of laser scanner and other survey equipment;
  • Acquire all the data and information necessary to the knowledge of the cultural heritage item for emergency securing and restoration by mean of laser scanner and other survey equipment (drone, total station, speditive photogrammetry, etc.).
  • Gather the local communities’ opinions and aspirations about the restoration and reconstruction of their own cultural heritage through interaction opportunities (by mean of formal and informal meetings which will be part of the workshop programme);
